What is prefinished and unfinished hardwood?

Prefinished hardwood has a durable and consistent factory finish. No "on-site" refinishing is required.  Prefinished floors work well over concrete or tile.  There are many different manufacturer's and hundreds of colors to choose from.  One tip is to find a prefinished floor that can be sanded should the need arise.  

Unfinished solid hardwood is the traditional style of flooring that requires "on-site" sanding and refinishing to complete the look of the floor. Unfinished floors allow for more options for colors, stains and finishes, but require more time to complete the refinishing process.  Tnis is the more popular choice in residential homes.  

Solid hardwood floors will last a lifetime and are highly recommended.
